Agency Overview:
thread is a non-profit agency and the statewide Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) Network whose mission is to advance the quality of early education and child development by empowering parents, educating child care professionals and collaborating with our communities. Since 1986 thread has been supporting families with child care referral services and parent education about child development, and also supporting early educators through training and consultation.
Specific Responsibilities:
The Professional Development Associate provides administrative support for thread's statewide Bilingual Professional Development Specialists at thread.
Provide support to child care programs, early educators, and contract trainers as needed.
  1. Manage thread's training registrations and follow-up following thread training policies and procedures; including data entry, communicating with attendees, processing training sign-in sheets, evaluations, homework, training transcripts, and reporting.
  2. Assist in collecting, analyzing, and reporting data for grants and other identified needs.
  3. Manage Professional Development training calendar information and data on the statewide CCR&R website.
  4. Assist Professional Development Leads in collecting, analyzing, and reporting professional development trends using statewide SEED Registry and CCR&R training data and thread's database.
  5. Support statewide teams by managing logistics including setting up meetings, taking meeting notes, managing documentation word processing, data entry and other support services as assigned by the Professional Development Leads.
  6. Coordinate and maintain the Professional Development page and documents on the intranet in English and Spanish.
  7. Support training and cohort meetings for Spanish speaking thread staff, contract trainers and early educators to include: registering, scheduling, prep, hosting and follow-up. Host training for Spanish trainers/educators.
  8. Support early childhood educators with work toward and obtaining a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential through the Council for Professional Recognition.
  9. Accurately communicate information about thread Professional Development services to customers, taking phone calls, answering questions and forwarding them to other PD staff for specific support.
  10. Support early childhood professionals by answering questions and providing training on using various types of technologies to include, but not limited to: thread website and training calendar, SEED registry, CDA website, threadtools, Learn & Grow website, Coaching Companion, Zoom, Salesforce, etc.
  1. Associates degree required, BA degree preferred, in business, communication, administration, or related field.
  2. Bilingual in Spanish required.
  3. Prior professional experience in an early childhood setting preferred.
  4. Previous experience in an administrative position.
  5. Previous experience with database coordination and reporting desired.
  6. References and valid identification required.
  7. Must pass background check.

  11. Knowledge of adult education practices and previous experience training and consulting; comfortable with public speaking.
  12. Ability to engage in collaborative teamwork with members across the state.
  13. Ability to travel to meet job requirements, including travel to rural communities via small planes (generally 1-4 times per year).
  14. Ability to work a varied schedule based on service delivery needs, including evenings and weekends as required.
  15. Bilingual in speaking, reading, and writing a must.
Schedule and Compensation:
Position Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm

Hiring Range: $20.00 - $23.00/hour
