The Online Traffic Specialist will work directly with the Digital Manager and the Anchorage Daily News sales team to develop both direct sold and execute digital network advertising campaigns on behalf of Anchorage Daily News advertising clients and implement tactical campaigns across our Demand Side Platform and, traffic digital ad creative, and produce campaign reporting.
  1. Responsible for day-to-day management of online advertising campaigns and online inventory.
  2. Manage active advertising campaigns for our online-management systems, including Basis DSP, Google DoubleClick for Publishers, LiveIntent, Teads, email marketing and Cityspark, ensuring full delivery of impressions and/or maximizing impressions where needed.
  3. Schedule all online campaigns and ensure that creative will run correctly.
  4. Manage campaign report production and respond to any questions from Media Consultants regarding a client’s report or campaign.
  5. Work with and Advertising Traffic & Billing Specialists to ensure each campaign is submitted for billing.
  6. Coordinate online ad creation with design team.
  7. Generate inventory reports, when requested by Media Consultants, to help forecast availability for potential online sales.
  8. Provide training for Media Consultants on digital trends and DSP platform.
  9. Work directly with sales team to plan and execute programmatic online advertising campaigns. Communicate success and optimizations, while establishing a strong partnership.
  10. Provide insight and feedback to sales team to enhance campaign strategies and maximize return on investment for clients.
  11. Maintain familiarity with client objectives in order to identify opportunities within each campaign to improve performance and take action to improve results and make continual optimizations towards client objectives.
  12. Work with Digital Manager to set up platforms/management strategies for new programmatic ad platforms and assist with research on new ad products/trends.
  13. Keep up to date on all certifications.
  14. Other duties as assigned based on the needs of the business and department.
  1. Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent work experience.
  2. Minimum one year in ad trafficking or digital media marketing preferred.
  3. Must be proficient with learning new software systems and be comfortable developing creative optimization solutions to exceed benchmarks.
  4. Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent listening skills and the ability to adjust to the personalities of various partners
  5. Familiarity with Google ad buying or other ad serving platforms a plus.
  6. Be an optimization expert within our DSP platform.
  7. Have full understanding of internal platform’s capabilities and applying optimizations to gain the best performance according to client’s objectives.
  8. Experience with content management systems and online-based programs.
  9. Must be familiar with Microsoft Office with a focus on Excel.
  10. Maintain a high level of dependability and attendance, and possess a good attitude.
  11. Ability to multitask with effective resolution management in a fast-paced, growing environment.
  12. Ability to speak and present before vendors, clients and fellow employees.
  13. Must be a problem-solver, and have the ability to embrace new technology.
  14. Self-motivated and ability to work with little supervision and utilize good judgment.
  1. While performing duties of this job, would occasionally be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls.
