Job Information
Open to the general public and any current Municipal employee.
This is a non-represented position (no union affiliation) and is subject to the provisions of the Personnel Rules of the Municipality of Anchorage.
DEPARTMENT: Office of the Municipal Manager
HOURS OF WORK: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
LOCATION: 632 W 6th Avenue - City Hall
Employees who are hired or rehired to any position shall be placed at the entrance pay step, and advancement from the entrance step to the maximum step within a pay grade shall be by successive steps.

Example of Duties
Under the direction of the Occupational Safety and Health Director, this position is responsible for supporting the planning, implementation, coordination, and oversight of the Municipality's security program. The individual will work closely with Municipal departments to effectively oversee physical site security with contract staff, review and revise workplace security protocols, manage and administer the Municipality Safety Management System (SMS) and provide employee training on workplace security and safety. Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences
High school diploma, GED or equivalent and eight (8) years of experience in the field related to the position. Employment is conditional based on a satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history.
OR
Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources, Purchasing, Computer Information Systems, Finance or similar discipline and six (6) years of experience in the field related to the position. Employment is conditional based on a satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history.
OR
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources, Purchasing, Computer Information Systems, Finance or similar discipline and four (4) years of experience in the field related to the position.
OR
Master’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources, Purchasing, Computer Information Systems, Finance or similar discipline and two (2) years of experience in the field related to the position. Employment is conditional based on a satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history.
