Our client: Our client assists with the promotion of Alaska’s economic growth by partnering with other financial institutions to act as a funding resource. They are renowned for furthering a healthy economic climate for all Alaskans.
They are seeking an experienced, self-directed individual who is highly knowledgeable in GAAP and Governmental Accounting Standards Board(GASB) accounting. Areas in the scope of work include (but are not limited to): fund accounting, fixed asset accounting, reporting, auditing, financing with bonds and analysis.

Would you like to:
- Prepare and monitor operating budgets
- Prepare financial statements with detailed supporting documentation
- Review accuracy of daily accounting transactions
- Monitor compliance requirements
- Update accounting policies, make recommendations for processes and procedures
- Research accounting implications or changes
- Attend monthly Project Management committee meetings
- Provide financial data/analysis to project managers, procurement staff, upper management, federal grantors, grantees, lenders, bonding agents and others
- Coordinate annual external audit
- Other duties as assigned
Ideally you have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of ten years of financial statement, auditing, financial accounting or similar
- CPA required
- Strong written and verbal communication, analytical and consultive skills
- Technical and operational knowledge of GASB, Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), governmental budgeting principles and practices
- Knowledge of OMB Circulars, experience with Code of Federal Regulations
- High level accounting function knowledge
- Government accounting/budget principles and practice experience
