When she's not at work you might find her flying down a trail on her fat tire bike\, whipping up delicious messes in the kitchen\, writing bad poetry\, or enjoying live music. She lives by the mantra that "the long moral arc of the universe only bends toward justice if the people do the pulling."\n\n\nGeorge is a husband\, father of two ASD students\, dog dad to Betty\, Popeye\, and Hunter-Simon. He is a self-employed strategic consultant and has built a diverse career as a community organizer\, college professor\, artist\, and government and nonprofit executive\, including service as a U.S. cultural envoy with international diplomatic assignments across the Western Hemisphere.\n\n \n\nHe previously served as a Special Assistant to the Mayor of Anchorage and as President of the Northeast Community Council\, where he worked to strengthen neighborhoods and bring people together. George currently chairs the Assembly's Community and Economic Development Committee and is a vice-chair of the National Association of Counties subcommittee on housing. \n\n \n\nHe is committed to bringing people together to build a connected\, safe\, and thriving Anchorage\, where businesses succeed\, our economy grows\, neighborhoods flourish\, and families are healthy and prosperous.
