SUMMARY:Virtual "Make it Monday" forum - Office of the Governor
DESCRIPTION:Miles Baker\, Infrastructure Investment Coordinator\, will provide a high-level review of the state's fiscal/budget situation\, the impacts of the recently passed Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the Governor's general obligation bond proposal.\n\n\n\nPLUS\, a brief presentation from Anne Adasiak-Andrew on Anchorage School Business Partnerships (SBP).\n\n\n\n\nMiles Baker has extensive government relations\, public policy\, finance\, and strategic communications experience at the state and federal level. \n\n\n\nHe is the Infrastructure Investment Coordinator for Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy. In this role he is managing the implementation of the recently passed federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law for the State of Alaska. Previously\, Miles was the Governor's Legislative Director responsible for the administration's legislative policy agenda.\n\n\n\nPrior to joining the Dunleavy Administration in Sept 2021\, Miles led government relations for the University of Alaska\, managing the system's federal\, state\, and local government relations. He was VP of External Affairs & Government Relations for the Alaska Gasline Development Corporation\, State Director for U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski and a finance and economic policy advisor in her Washington\, D.C office. Miles worked as senior budget and appropriations staff to the Alaska Senate Finance Committee and was Chief of Staff to Senator Bert Stedman of Sitka. \n\n\n\nBefore returning to his home state of Alaska\, Miles was an executive in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles. He was a Six-Sigma Black Belt at NBC Entertainment and helped launch the media & entertainment practice of iXL Enterprise. He was National Director of Sales and Marketing at Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG)\, now Sony Music Entertainment\, and held senior sales and marketing roles in BMG's classical and jazz divisions. He began his music career in marketing and artist development at Island Records\, Arista Records and Zoo Entertainment. \n\n\n\nMiles was a Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps\, holds a B.S. in Ocean Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy and an MBA from UCLA's Anderson School of Management.
