SUMMARY:SMPS April Mini-Conference: Adaptive Leadership
DESCRIPTION:The mini-conference (Mini-Con) is SMPS Alaska's annual signature educational event. A half-day conference (hence mini) focused on best practices in Architectural\, Engineering\, & Construction (A/E/C) marketing and business development\, this conference targets marketing\, business development and technical professionals in the Alaskan A/E/C industry. In addition to bringing national speakers to Alaska\, the Mini-Con atmosphere provides networking opportunities among fellow professionals to help build and reconnect with business connections.\n\nThis year's SMPS Alaska Chapter Mini-Con digs deep into Adaptive Leadership and its application in creating resilient firms. Adaptive leadership\, first introduced by Ronald Heifetz and Marty Linsky\, is a leadership model that requires experimentation\, constant learning\, and fine-tuning or micro-adjusting firm policies and procedures. Adaptive leadership focus on the following main principals: \n\n\n	Emotional Intelligence - the ability to recognize your feelings and the feelings of others.\n	Organizational Justice - fostering a culture of honesty.\n	Development - ability to learn new skills & adjust approaches if desired outcomes produced.\n	Character - having the ability to admit fault\; being transparent and creative. \n\n\nNow more than ever\, leaders not only need to be high performer within their technical discipline\, but also need the ability to take on new strategies and techniques to overcome challenges. \n\nThis year we are bringing the energy with new and exciting new speakers to share how to elevate your firm and learn how to ignite that confidence in you to shine and make a difference at your firm. Whether in marketing\, BD\, or a technical professional\, hope you enjoy!
