Food Bank of Alaska's mission is to work toward eliminating hunger by collecting and distributing food through 70 partner food pantries and meal programs in Anchorage and more partners statewide.\n\n\n\nMonday's forum will begin with a short presentation on the impact and influence of community and business involvement in schools\, through the School Business Partnership (SBP) program. Most Anchorage School District schools have School Business Partners\, but Central Middle School of Science is unique in that they have an entire class dedicated to the SBP objective. Coughlin is a partner at K&L Gates LLP\, where her practice focuses primarily on litigation\, handling complex business litigation in addition to medical malpractice and employment cases. Her recent commercial case experience includes an arbitration on behalf of a royalty owner that resulted in a $245 million award\, an administrative hearing and subsequent appeals involving a significant state income tax dispute\, and a variety of contract disputes and real property litigation.\n\n\n\nJennifer has been a member of the Board of Directors of Food Bank of Alaska since 1994\, and President for the past two years. Jennifer has lived in Alaska since 1992\, and enjoys singing with the Anchorage Concert Chorus\, hiking and travel.\n\n\n\nKarla Jutzi has been Director of Donor Development and Communications at Food Bank of Alaska since June 2013. Before that she served as executive director of the Alaska Center for the Blind & Visually Impaired for nine years and learned something every day from the Center's blind and low vision clients. Karla came to Alaska in 1992 as Assistant Executive Director at NEA-Alaska\, the culmination of a 20-year career with several state affiliates of the National Education Association. She started her professional life teaching English to 8th graders.
