DESCRIPTION:Anchorage is developing a strategic roadmap for reducing our impact on climate change and preparing for the changes we're already seeing. As buildings are responsible for the majority of our electricity and natural gas use\, the plan focuses on energy efficiency recommendations\, which not only reduce monthly expenses but also offer greater productivity and comfort for employees and customers. The Municipality is interested in engaging the business community on strategies for increasing energy efficiency in our commercial buildings.\n\n\n\nPLUS! A new member presentation by Nicolle Egan\, President & CEO of Special Olympics Alaska and Ayesha Abdull-Jillil\, Special Olympics Alaska Office Assistant\, Athlete\, and 2018 USA Summer Games Gold Medalist.\n\n \n\n\n\nAs the Energy and Sustainability Manager at Solid Waste Services for the Municipality of Anchorage\, Shaina Kilcoyne works on a broad range of energy and resiliency goals for the Municipality of Anchorage. She strives to collaborate with the many city departments\, community entities and organizations\, and local businesses to foster partnerships across disciplines to leverage shared goals. Her vision is to cultivate Anchorage as a leader in the energy sector with smart\, business-based policies and programs.\n\n\n\nPrevious to her work at the Municipality of Anchorage\, Shaina spent nearly seven years dedicated to promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy through Renewable Energy Alaska Project. During high school and college Shaina spent six years with the Army National Guard as a heavy equipment operator within an engineering unit. Through experience serving in the military\, Shaina learned to respect the significance of a secure and sustainable energy economy.\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\nNew to Monday Forum?
