DESCRIPTION:Ian Laing will deliver the current numbers and facts concerning the fiscal situation in Alaska. Alaska's Future mission is to support the development of a stable and sustainable fiscal plan that will allow the Alaska economy to grow and thrive. Use of the permanent fund earnings starting this year is the cornerstone of a fiscal plan that will significantly reduce the deficit\, support essential public services and maintain a sustainable dividend and healthy Permanent Fund. A resolution of Alaska's fiscal uncertainty will lead to new jobs\, increased investment and a growing economy. \n\n\n\nIan Laing\, Alaska's Future\, Executive Director\n\n\n\nLifelong Alaskan\, dog-father\, rocks-jock\, and policy wonk. Ian has worked in and around Alaska politics since returning home in 2003. He has spent much of his career focused on Alaska fiscal policy\, working for legislators on both sides of the aisle\, as well as Governor's Palin and Parnell. Having long obsessed over the current fiscal challenge\, Ian has worked to develop new public engagement tools with ISER\, and in 2016 spearheaded a crowd-funded grassroots campaign with the civic action group\, Our Alaska. In January\, Ian took over as the Executive Director of the Alaska's Future campaign.
