He spent the majority of 2017 working and traveling in Australia. When he returned\, he started the Alaska Landmine\, a political news website. He has spent every session in Juneau since 2019 covering the Legislature. In 2021\, he started the Alaska Political Report\, a subscription-based newsletter that provides detailed coverage of the state budget and politics. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nMatt Acu a Buxton is a political writer and journalist who's covered Alaska politics since moving to the state in 2011 to work for the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner. He has covered the Alaska Legislature in person and from a safe distance since transitioning to independent reporting and writing. He's written for The Midnight Sun and The Alaska Current.
