DESCRIPTION:With a large\, new class of freshman legislators and veteran legislators soon making their way to Juneau\, now is the time to forge relationships and understand legislative organization and priorities. Commonwealth North hosts this annual face to face discussion between Alaskans and legislators in advance of each legislative session. It is an opportunity to hear from legislative leadership\, gain a sense of the upcoming session\, and bring forward issues and priorities for legislators to consider. \n\n\n\nA CONVERSATION WITH LEGISLATIVE LEADERSHIP:\n\nFollowing a presentation from legislative leadership\, we'll invite legislative leadership to sit down at guest tables for a prompted discussion about the upcoming session. \n\n\n\nTABLE DISCUSSIONS:\n\nDuring table discussions\, you'll have the opportunity to discuss critical public policy issues with legislators. We'll have three rounds of table discussions. Legislators will move to a new table with each round. These discussions are a wonderful opportunity to discuss issues\, get to know legislators and their priorities\, and develop a sense of the dynamics of the upcoming session.\n\n\n\nThis is not a campaign\, political debate\, or cross-examination. It is an opportunity to discuss key issues with well-informed\, thoughtful Alaskans.\n\n\n\nThank you to our program sponsors!
