DESCRIPTION:In September\, members of Future Elders' Indigenous Team\, Trina Landlord and Darbi Daley\, will discuss how their work is shaping wellness\, identity\, and diversity within Alaska Native and Indigenous communities.\n\n\n\nThe diversity committee's mission is to better serve and advocate for the business community by becoming a more open\, inclusive\, and diverse organization reflective of the make-up of Anchorage. To accomplish this we envision a board that reflects the demographics of our city and a growing membership of businesses representing the diversity of our business owners and entrepreneurs.\n\n\n\nSEPTEMBER AGENDA\n\n \n\n\nTRINA LANDLORD - Director of Business Development  \n\nTrina Landlord serves as the Director of Business Development at Future Elder\, an Indigenous and female-owned full-service brand marketing and communications firm where she cultivates client relationships\, builds community partnerships\, identifies and pursues new business opportunities and writes proposals. Trina has worked in the development field for Alaska Native advocacy and Tribal health non-profits\, managed an arts organization that provided a platform for Alaska Native artists and worked in non-governmental organizations and the private sector in the U.S. and abroad. She worked at a cultural embassy that promoted Alaska in New York City. She was selected as the first Alaskan to participate in the ExxonMobil-sponsored Global Women in Management in Washington\, DC\, which convened 28 women from over 20 countries for leadership development. Trina has served on the boards of the American Red Cross\, Food Bank of Alaska and Alaska Native Heritage Month and was a volunteer radio host of 'First Voices' on KNBA 90.3. She was named one of Alaska Journal of Commerce's Top Forty Under 40. She is of Yupik heritage\, originally from Mountain Village and resides in Anchorage.                                                   \n\n \n\nDARBI DALEY - Director of Client Services\n\nDarbi is a lifelong Alaskan born and raised in Anchorage. She is a marketing and communications professional who is passionate about Indigenous representation and health equity for Indigenous peoples. Darbi has more than 15 years of experience in the areas of Tribal health\, public health\, Alaska Native corporations\, government and nonprofits. She is a proud Tribal citizen of the Chickasaw Nation and carries her Indigenous values into the work she does. Darbi holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Public Communications with a concentration in Strategic Communications\, from the University of Alaska Anchorage\, and in 2024\, received a graduate certificate from Alaska Pacific University in the Alaska Native Executive Leadership Program.\n \n\n\n\nAll members and non-members are welcome to attend and share ideas to advance our diversity mission.
