DESCRIPTION:ABOUT THE BEE\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Anchorage Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation to host a nonpartisan civics competition that encourages young Americans to engage in civics and contribute to their communities. Participating 6th\, 7th and 8th graders will flex their civics knowledge for a chance to win recognition and cash prizes. Finalists will be invited to Washington\, DC to compete in the National Civics Bee  national championship in Fall 2026.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWHY CIVICS?\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Anchorage Chamber is participating in the National Civics Bee  because we believe that informed and active citizens make for a strong country\, a strong economy\, and a strong workforce\, and that our continued prosperity depends on the strength of all three. Through the Bee\, we are promoting greater civic knowledge in Alaska and celebrating our civic pride.\n\n \n\n\n\nENTRY CLOSED ON MARCH 8th!\n\n \n\nAfter a competitive application process\, outstanding 6th\, 7th\, and 8th grade students from across Alaska have been selected as finalists. These students will showcase their civic knowledge and ideas for improving their communities while competing for recognition\, cash prizes\, and the opportunity to advance to the National Civics Bee  National Championship in Washington\, DC in Fall 2026.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Take a look at the Study Guide to see what they will need to know!\n\nAPPLICATIONS ARE CLOSED!
