Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:

The Supported Employment Specialist provides ongoing supervision and support to individuals as directed in developing and maintaining appropriate work skills both on and off the job site. In addition, the Supported Employment Specialist provides support for individuals to assist them in pursuing goals related to community activities, social interactions, essential life skills and personal hygiene tasks. This position may work independently but maintains close contact with the assigned supervisor and the team. The job atmosphere is based on the individuals’ needs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required: High School Diploma or GED. Must be able to complete Certification within 18 months. One (1) year experience in social services and/or direct support of individuals experiencing disabilities. One (1) year computer proficiency experience. Must have continuous use of a vehicle, valid driver’s license, required insurance coverage, clean driving record and be able to pass a background check. Current TB skin test/health screening. Must maintain CPR, First Aid, and MANDT certification.

Preferred: Two (2) years’ experience in social services and/or direct support of individuals experiencing disabilities. Two (2) years’ computer proficiency experience.
