Job Description

The Mental Health Treatment Clinician is responsible for providing therapeutic services and quality assurance to Mental Health, Substance Abuse and other services, which comprise individuals who experience severe emotional disturbance and other co-occurring disorders. The Clinician may provide some clinical consultation and training. This position works under close supervision of the Director of Behavioral Health Services. This position requires a LPC/LCSW license (Clinician II) or actively working towards obtaining LPC/LCSW licensure within two years of the start of this job (Clinician I). This position will also actively work towards certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor.
 
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Required: Masters Degree in human services field with a preferred concentration of study in counseling, social work, psychology. Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the social services field and minimum of two (2) years’ experience counseling adults and children who experience emotional disturbance, mental illness and/or developmental disabilities. Valid Alaska driver license, clean driving record, proof of insurance, TB skin test/health screening and the ability to pass a criminal background check. Must maintain CPR/First Aid certification and MANDT certifications.

Preferred: Credentials in substance abuse preferred.
